I am a Brazilian-Italian artist questioning the tropes of one-dimensional narration in favour of more complex, fluid systems of information delivery. By creating interventions orchestrated through the lens of painting, I aim to de-construct specific notions of memory and identity that feel sedimented in time. I am intrigued in particular by undigested historical moments where ruling power-structures have used reoccurring symbols to create narratives in their favour. I set out to re-visit, collect and translate these situations in order to better understand the extent of their influence on the present moment.

As the work dwells between what is cognitively understood and the yet unknown, new stories unfold and can be brought forward; each holding a fragment of a larger narrative. Family, myth, the encroaching forest - all the subjects that haunt eventually re-emerge, albeit scrambled. Loose chapters interweave like memories coming together, as time turns out to be simultaneous and multiple.
